Filling with Hyaluronic Acid
Wrinkles and skin imperfections can also be treated with a simple intracutaneous injection of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is an excellent way of softening the cheeks, lips and facial contours to return energy and vitality back to your face.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin and is produced by the body to give your skin its volume and fullness. It is essential for the skin“s structure as it allows the tissue to be supplied with moisture. As we grow older the hyaluronic acid content of the skin decreases resulting in a leathery, dry look to the skin. As the skin dries out small wrinkles begin to appear followed later by folds and larger wrinkles. Cheeks, cheekbones and lips all lose their fullness. Thanks to its padding and moisturizing effect the hyaluronic acid fills up the wrinkles and restores the natural contours to the face.
Hyaluronic acid is non-allergenic and completely absorbable. The aesthetic results are visible immediately and look very natural. After treatment the patient can immediately resume his/her usual activities and the effect lasts for 6 to 12 months (age, skin quality and personal hygiene all affect the duration).
The injections can be a little painful and if necessary your physician can offer you local anesthesia in the form of an anesthetic cream.
Side Effects
Sometimes redness, slight swelling and bruising can occur at the injection site, however these usually only last for a short period of time and can be easily concealed.
With certain diseases (autoimmune diseases, allergies, inflammation or infections etc), hyaluronic acid injections are not recommended. A consultation with one of our highly experienced physicians in aesthetic medicine is essential for safe treatment.
